ハッシュ化（hashing）

可変長の文字列を、通常、より短い固定長の値またはキーに変換するプロセス。テーブルまたはデータベースを照会する際は、一般的には、ハッシュ化された値またはハッシュを使用する。また、暗号化ハッシュ関数を使用して、データをセキュリティで保護する。
