The ISTQB Glossary page is curated and edited by Adam Hepner, a software quality assurance professional with years of hands-on experience in software testing and quality management. Adam works with testing terminology daily — designing test strategies, reviewing test documentation, and mentoring teams on the vocabulary they use to describe their work.
This site is an independent, unofficial project. It has no affiliation with ISTQB or any national board. Adam is not an ISTQB trainer and does not deliver certification courses; the expertise behind this site comes from practising software quality assurance, not from selling training.
The official ISTQB glossary is a valuable reference, but its web interface is notoriously hard to work with. This site makes the same terminology — close to a thousand terms across up to 17 languages — easy to browse, search, link to, and cite. Every definition traces back to the official source; see the editing methodology page for exactly how terms are sourced, enriched, and reviewed.
Content on this site follows a documented editorial process: verbatim sourcing from official exports, transparent labelling of AI-assisted content, and human review by a software-testing professional. Term pages carry an editorial metadata footer stating the source glossary version, reviewer, and review date. Read the full editing methodology.
Questions, corrections, or suggestions about a term or an article?
Corrections to definitions are always checked against the official ISTQB glossary before being applied.
